Johnnie Means Aquatics: Short Doc

Johnnie Means Aquatics is a community-focused swim program dedicated to water safety, skill development, and confidence building for Black and Brown families. Founded by retired coach Johnnie Means, alongside founders and coaches Dominique Hamilton and Candess Tucker, the program was created to address the historic lack of access to quality aquatic education in underserved communities.

Rooted in mentorship and lived experience, Johnnie Means Aquatics goes beyond traditional swim lessons by emphasizing water safety, proper technique, and personal growth. Through culturally aware instruction and community trust, the program empowers Black and Brown youth and families with life-saving skills, confidence, and a foundation for long-term success in and out of the water.

This story was captured by BrembyFilms, who traveled to Texas Southern University to document the program’s mission. Through on-site filming and in-depth interviews with the founders and Johnnie Means, the film highlights the heart of the organization, the importance of representation in aquatics, and the lasting impact of community-driven storytelling.

Real Strong Nutrition: Strong AF

Strong AF is a playful, narrative-driven brand film for Real Strong Nutrition, produced by BrembyFilms. The story follows Ken, who isn’t into pre-workout, until his “innie” — an inner version of himself — unexpectedly appears while he’s reaching for his beverage of choice: water. Introducing the product as “PEA — Physical Enhancement Activity,” the innie challenges Ken to give it a try.

With each sip, Ken is pulled into fast-cut workout sequence, slipping in and out of a high-energy wormhole as the effects build sip by sip. Just as he starts to feel the rush, the innie jumps back in to remind him he’s not finished yet — landing the punchline and the result: Ken feels Strong AF.
